Doctor Aromas offers a range of scenting systems, diffusers, and room sprays to fill your space with fragrance. The A/C scenting system is one of their popular products, which can be set up with your central air conditioning system to evenly distribute fragrance throughout your home or office. The process involves assembling the scenting system, which includes attaching the scent refill to the A/C dispenser, and then placing it near the A/C filter to ensure maximum coverage. Installing the DA Mini Dispenser

To install the DA Mini Dispenser, follow these steps:

Firstly, open the dispenser by sliding open the back piece. Insert 2 AA Alkaline batteries as indicated and replace the battery cover. Please note that the dispenser will automatically turn on and trigger one spray when batteries are inserted.

Next, open the front side of the dispenser by pressing the ball buttons on both sides. Open the cover and, if the mechanical trigger is in a down position, use the remote control to push it up. Ensure the trigger is out of sight.

Now, you must hook the dispenser to the Aroma Refill 3000. Fit the edge of the can to the corresponding ring and slide it to the very end. If your installation requires it, you must change the spray nozzle on the Refill for the extension spray nozzle before this step.

Close the cover of the dispenser securely, checking it is in the right position.

Now, you can place the dispenser. For closed HVAC units, the most common option in Canada, there are two options. Option A is to place the dispenser inside the return duct, standing upright and aiming towards the filter. Option B is to install the dispenser outside the return duct. To do this, make two holes in the return duct where you wish to install the dispenser. The upper, smaller hole is for the hanging screw, and the lower, bigger hole is for inserting the extension spray nozzle tip so that it can spray into the duct.

If you have an HVAC unit with an exposed air filter, there are two positions to be aware of. If the filter is parallel to the floor (horizontal), mount the dispenser hanging from the wall below the filter. If the filter is parallel to the wall (vertical), mount the dispenser from the wall, aiming towards the filter. If there is less than 4 inches of distance between the wall and the filter, hang the dispenser on the wall perpendicular to the filter.

To test that your dispenser is working, use the TEST button on the control. If it sprays, it is installed correctly. You can then set your desired intensity using the remote control.

You can turn the system on and off as desired, and it is recommended to keep the FAN on the thermostat in the ON mode to keep your house consistently perfumed.

Installing the DA Pro Dispenser

• Unlocking and Battery Installation: Begin by inserting the unlocking key into the top socket to open the dispenser cover. Then, place 2 D batteries inside and press the "RESET" button for the initial setup.
• Setting the Time and Mode: Press the ON/OFF button to turn the device off. Now, set the desired time and intervals according to your preferences. You can adjust the settings later if needed.
• Inserting the Aroma Refill: Take the Aroma Refill 3000 and place it into the dispenser, ensuring that the edge of the can aligns with the corresponding ring. Slide it all the way in, and don't forget to aim the spray nozzle in the desired direction—through the front or back.
• Using the Extension Spray: If you plan to use the extension spray, it should go through the backside. Install the extension spray nozzle that comes with the refill before inserting it into the dispenser.
• Final Placement and Activation: Once you're satisfied with the settings and placement, it's time to activate the dispenser. Find a suitable place or hang it on the wall according to the instructions (see the next section for specific placement advice). After placing the dispenser, press the ON/OFF button to turn it on. Please note that the dispenser will spray when you turn it on, so ensure it's correctly oriented.
• Closing the Cover: Close the cover of the dispenser until you hear a click, indicating it's securely closed. Keep the unlocking key in a safe place to avoid misplacing it.

Now, the placement of the DA Pro Dispenser may vary depending on the type of HVAC unit you have:

• Closed HVAC Units: If your HVAC unit has a closed design with the filter inside the unit or inside the wall or ceiling, you have two options. Option A involves placing the dispenser inside the return duct, standing upright and aiming toward the filter. Option B requires making two holes in the return duct: one for the hanging screw and another for inserting the extension spray nozzle.
• HVAC Units with Exposed Air Filter: If your HVAC unit has an exposed air filter, the placement depends on the filter's orientation. If the filter is parallel to the floor (horizontal), mount the dispenser on the wall below the filter. Ensure the HVAC unit is turned on for proper functioning. If the filter is parallel to the wall (vertical), the placement depends on the distance between the wall and the filter. If the distance is 4 to 10 inches, mount the dispenser on the wall, aiming toward the filter. If the distance is less than 4 inches, hang the dispenser perpendicular to the filter.

Where to place the A/C dispenser

Once your A/C scenting system is assembled, meaning the Scent Refill is attached to the A/C Dispenser, place it so that it hits the largest possible area of the A/C filter.

If the filter is parallel to the floor: Mount the System on the wall so that it sits just below the filter. If there is a water heater below the filter, hang the System from the wall at a height that will allow the spray to go over the water heater and under the filter.

If the filter is inside the wall duct: Open the air intake vent, remove the air filter, and place the System inside the AC duct pointing towards the filter at a 45-degree angle.

If the filter is on the ceiling: Open the air intake vent and remove the filter. Hang the System from the wall or directly from the duct.

If the filter is parallel to the wall: The System should be placed at a distance of 4 to 10 inches from the filter. If there is a distance of at least 4 inches from the wall to the filter, simply hang the dispenser from the wall. If the distance between the filter and the wall is less than 4 inches, hang the System on the wall perpendicular to the filter.

Inserting the refill

Setting the spray interval

To set the spray interval, you must first press the MODE button on the DA Pro Dispenser until INTERVAL appears on the LCD screen. From here, you can use the HOUR and MIN buttons to adjust the spray interval to your desired setting. The dispenser can be programmed to spray at intervals ranging from every minute to every 2 hours and 59 minutes.

For home use, Doctor Aromas recommends starting with a 20-minute interval. This setting will ensure that your scent refill lasts a reasonable amount of time while providing a noticeable fragrance. However, you can always adjust the interval to suit your personal preference. If you find the fragrance too strong, you can increase the interval to make it longer between sprays. Conversely, if you want a more potent aroma, you can shorten the interval to increase the spray frequency.
