Setting Up Pura: A Step-By-Step Guide

Pura offers a range of smart diffusers that can be set up and controlled via the Pura app. The setup process involves downloading and launching the app, signing in or creating an account, and connecting the diffuser to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network. Users can then insert fragrance vials or cartridges and control the intensity of the scent. The Pura app also allows users to name and select the room for their diffuser, making it easier to find and control in the device list. Download the Pura app

To set up your Pura diffuser, you'll need to start by downloading and launching the Pura app. This will be the same whether you're setting up a Pura 3, Pura 4, Pura Plus, or Pura Car diffuser.

Once you've downloaded the app, you'll need to sign in or create an account. If you're already signed in, you'll be taken to the home screen of your app. From here, you can click the button to set up your diffuser.

If you're setting up a Pura 3 or Pura 4 diffuser, you'll need to choose the type of diffuser you are setting up. If you're setting up a Pura Plus or Pura Car diffuser, you'll need to ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and that your device is within a 5-foot range of your diffuser.

For the Pura 3, Pura 4, and Pura Plus diffusers, you'll then need to choose your desired WiFi network and enter the password. Please note that the WiFi network must be 2.4 GHz for the diffuser to be able to connect.

Once you've completed these steps, you'll be able to move on to setting up your diffuser in the app, including choosing your fragrance and setting up your diffuser room.

Sign in or create an account

To set up your Pura diffuser, you'll first need to download and launch the Pura app. You can then either sign in or create an account. If you are creating an account, you will be asked to provide an email address and create a password. Once you have signed in or created your account, you will be taken to the home screen of your app. Here, you can click the button to set up your diffuser.

If you are setting up the Pura 3 Diffuser, you will then need to choose the type of diffuser you are setting up and position it upright to avoid spills. You will then be asked to choose a WiFi network and enter the password. You can then click 'Add Fragrances' and decide whether to allow camera access to scan QR codes for fragrance information. If you would prefer not to enable camera permissions, you can enter the 3-digit code located on the backside of your fragrance vials into the app.

For the Pura 4 Diffuser, after clicking the button to set up your diffuser, you will need to select the Pura 4 Diffuser and plug it into the desired outlet. Make sure it is placed in an upright position. Your app will then search for your diffuser. If your app cannot find your diffuser, you may need to enable your Bluetooth permissions. Once your diffuser has been found, select 'Continue'.

If you are setting up the Pura Plus Diffuser, after signing in or creating an account, you will need to select the diffuser you are setting up. Once the diffuser is ready to connect, the Control Buttons will show solid blue. If the app cannot locate the diffuser, check that you have enabled Bluetooth permissions and that your phone is within a 5-foot range of your device.

For the Pura Car Diffuser, after signing in or creating an account, click the Plus icon to begin setup. Make sure your Pura Car is turned on and plugged into an active power source. Select the Car Fragrance Diffuser and then remove the fragrance cartridge from its packaging. Insert it into the side of your car diffuser and confirm the fragrance by clicking 'Save & Continue'. Your Pura Car will start diffusing fragrance automatically when motion is detected.

Connect to WiFi

To connect your Pura diffuser to WiFi, you must first download and launch the Pura app. Sign in or create an account, and once you're in the app, click 'Set Up Diffuser'. Choose the type of diffuser you are setting up, and ensure it is placed upright to avoid spills.

The app will then search for your diffuser. If it is unable to locate it, make sure you have enabled Bluetooth permissions and that your phone is within a 5-foot range of your device, then try again.

Once your diffuser has been found, select 'Continue'. If you get a 'No Diffusers Found' screen, place your diffuser in an open area, ensure it is close to your network access point, and try again.

Now, choose your desired WiFi network. Please note that the WiFi network must be 2.4 GHz for the diffuser to be able to connect. Enter the password, and press 'Continue'.

Your diffuser will light up with a green light once it has been successfully connected to WiFi. Press 'Continue' in the app to proceed.

Insert fragrance

To set up your Pura fragrance, you will need to follow a few simple steps. Firstly, download and launch the Pura app and sign in or create an account. Once you are signed in, click the button to set up a new diffuser and select your Pura device. Ensure your diffuser is plugged into the desired outlet and is placed in an upright position.

Your app will then search for your diffuser. If your diffuser is not found, you may need to enable Bluetooth permissions on your phone. Once your diffuser has been found, choose your desired WiFi network and enter the password. Your diffuser will light up with a green light when it has been successfully connected to WiFi.

Now, you can remove the fragrance vial caps and insert the fragrance into your diffuser. The Smart Vial will automatically detect the scent, but if it does not, you can scan the QR code or enter the three or four-digit code on the back of the vial. Confirm the fragrance by clicking 'Save & Continue'.

You can now adjust the fragrance intensity and scheduling features in the app to personalise your Pura experience.

Label the room

After inserting your fragrance of choice, you will need to label which room your Pura diffuser will be in. This is an important step as it will make it easier to find your device in your diffuser list later on. Click the drop-down menu and select the room where the diffuser will be placed. Once you have made your selection, click 'Continue'.

You can choose any room in the house, such as the living room, bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen. You can even place it in hallways or entryways. The options are endless. For example, if you are setting up your Pura diffuser in the bedroom, you might want to choose a calming or relaxing fragrance. On the other hand, if you are setting it up in the kitchen or bathroom, you might prefer a fragrance that neutralises odours or adds a fresh scent.

The room you select will also determine the intensity level of the fragrance. For instance, in a larger room, like the living room, you might want to set the diffuser to a higher intensity so that the fragrance fills the entire space. In contrast, in a smaller room, like a home office, you may opt for a lower intensity to create a more subtle aroma.

Additionally, consider the existing décor and atmosphere of the room. For instance, if you have a particularly cosy reading nook, you might want to enhance the ambiance with a warm and inviting fragrance. By labelling the room, you can tailor the scent and intensity to suit the specific environment and create a seamless and enjoyable fragrance experience.
