The Corrupted Monk will often end a combo string with either a perilous thrust or a low sweep, so players must pay attention to the movements of the blade to anticipate these attacks. Additionally, the boss arena has several tree branches that can be used to move around quickly if the player is boxed into a corner.
When the Corrupted Monk reaches its second health bar, the arena will be enveloped in a black and white mist, and the Corrupted Monk will disappear and reappear as three different phantoms that will each perform one attack before disappearing. In the third phase, the Undying Centipede appears, and the Corrupted Monk gains a new unblockable attack where she shrieks as the centipede spews gunk in a front-facing arc, dealing extreme terror damage. This attack can be avoided by dodging behind the Corrupted Monk and attacking from there.
