My Sin is a perfume by Lanvin, first launched in 1924. It was created by Madame Zed, a mysterious Russian lady who worked on several other Lanvin fragrances. It is a floral fragrance with dominant notes of acacia and aldehydes. The top notes include aldehydes, lemon, clary sage, neroli, and bergamot; the middle notes are jasmine, orris root, narcissus, ylang-ylang, rose, clove, lilac, and lily-of-the-valley; and the base notes are civet, musk, styrax, vetiver, vanilla, and woods.
In 1988, Lanvin discontinued the perfume, and the trademark and rights were bought by Long Lost Perfumes, who now sell their own version of the scent.
In 2017, Lanvin launched a new fragrance also called My Sin. However, this scent is very different from the original, with top notes of apricot and pear, middle notes of freesia and rose, and base notes of musk and sandalwood.

The scent is pleasant and light, and the bottle is lovely. It is a modern, safe scent, and it is not a classic in any way. It is not a complex work of art like the original My Sin, and it is not bursting with aldehydic intensity and dripping with civet. It is a boring, mainstream, and soulless scent. It is a basic, teenybopper special.
